Mara was recently named the "Best Storyteller of New York" by New York Press. She is the storyteller in residence for several NYC public schools with Early Stages, Inc. and a teaching artist with TADA! She has also told stories for audiences across the nation in festivals, schools, community and private events. She has been a featured storyteller for the Baby Gap stores in Manhattan and a selected storyteller at the Tribeca Film Festival since it's inception. She has also been featured on Fox 5 TV's Good Day New York for storytelling to young audiences.
Also an actor, Mara's favorite roles include Bloomsday on Broadway featuring Frank McCourt at Symphony Space. She has worked Off Broadway in numerous productions as well as having appeared in commercials, print and independent films. Mara is the co-founder of Treehouse Shakers, an adjunct English Professor at Dowling College, and an affiliate of New York Writers Coalition. Originally from Wyoming, Mara graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy as a theater major and received her B.F.A from Stephens College in Columbia, MO.

A half-hour of storytelling, includes three stories and storytelling activities tailored to birthday child
Price $175
Forty-five minutes of storytelling, includes three to four stories and interactive storytelling activities
Price $200
An hour of storytelling, that includes more than three stories and interactive storytelling activities

*Plus travel expenses if outside NYC
* All prices for birthday parties include up to 25 kids. If you are planning a larger event, price increases $50 for every additional 10 kids, for additional helpers.
Community Events
45 minutes of storytelling and activities for young audiences

A repeated all day performance (4-5) hours, can also include classroom work

Staff Development
Staff Developments for preschools, elementary schools, & colleges can be tailored to your teachers’ or administration’s needs. With twelve years experience teaching creative drama, writing, and storytelling, Mara fully engages teachers, as she leads them through a dynamic and unique learning experience. Her lessons can be applied easily to the classroom, and all Staff Developments come with a teacher’s reference package. She can provide an hour, to an entire weekend of workshop learning.
